2008 Spearboard Open Dates Announced:

Captain's Meeting on Thursday, May 15, 2008    5:30 - 8:00 PM

The Spearboard Open is  the world's largest aggregate style Spearfishing Tournaments and is held each year in the Tampa Bay area of Florida. Last year almost 300 contestants came from the states of Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Caroline and Louisiana. In past tournaments, spearos came from as far away as Italy to compete in the tournament.

The Spearboard Open promises to be bigger and better than ever for 2008, keeping the same rules and format of the past. The optional Captain's Meeting this year will be on Thursday night, May 15 at Wing House of Tampa, 8001 W. Hillsborough Ave., Tampa, FL 33615, 813-806-WING 

Participants will be hunting on Saturday, May 17 and the weigh-in will be the following morning, Sunday, May 18, at the Rotary Pavillion at the intersection of S.R. 52 and Suncoast Parkway in New Port Richey. May 18 is also the day of the Expo, BBQ Party, and Prize Ceremony.
